My F/F February TBR

Hello! Today I wanted to talk about really awesome readathon I’m planning to participate in throughout the month of February. I first saw in on Mayu’s blog, and immediately wanted to join in too! It’s called F/F February – and it’s all about reading sapphic books. 🌈💖

Being sapphic myself, I’ve been wanting to read more F/F books – it’s one of my reading goals for the year! – and as a new(er) book blogger, have been meaning to participate in my first EVER readathon – it’s one of my new year’s resolutions! – so this event felt like it was meant to be. I’m so excited to share my TBR with you all! 🥰

January 2021: Monthly Wrap-Up

Hello friends! Happy 2021 (again)! How has the new year been treating you? For me, it’s been a busy few weeks! I started a new job, and while I looove it, it’s also been keeping me preeetty busy! (Which is why I haven’t been able to read and comment on as many of your blog posts as I would have liked to. 😓)

That being said, I’ve finally gotten myself back into the groove of working full-time (and having to travel daily for my job, my commute is an hour each way…) My goal for the next month is to take it easy and enjoy my free time when I can manage to find some in my busy schedule. I’ve started some good habits in the last little while, like journalling, exercising more consistently and meditating before bed; so I’d like to keep them up as the semester gets even busier. 😤

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To

Hello! And welcome to my first ever Top Ten Tuesday post! Technically, this TTT prompt was the one listed for January 19th… but I didn’t see it until after, and it was such a great prompt I felt like I had to do it, even if my post was a week late. 😅

What’s worse, I own almost all of these books! In fact, that’s why I haven’t gotten to them yet… I tend to read books that I’ve been waiting on hold for from the library first, along with the number of upcoming ARCs I’ve requested to read/review! Which means these lovely little books just sit on my shelf… gathering dust. 😓

That’s a big motivator for why I’ve tasked myself with the goal of requesting less ARCs this year! I want to make more time to finally read all the backlist titles on my unending TBR! 💪💨

My 3 Reading Goals for the New Year

Now that we’re more than two weeks into the new year (time flies, am I right??), I thought it might be fun to write a post where I talk about the 3 goals I’m hoping to guide my reading practices this coming year.

If you’re wondering, ‘hey Liza, didn’t you already make a post about your new years resolutions?’ Then yes, you’d be right. I don’t really know, but for some reason these 3 goals feel different than my other resolutions, so I wanted to write them their own post. I guess the big difference is that my new years resolutions are specific things I want to do (like reading 50 books in 2021, participating in a readathon, etc.) while these “goals” are more ~intentions~ I want to guide my future reading.

I just feel like the more I get into the habit of reading a lot, the more I want to be thoughtful about the books I choose to read. So, without further ado…

2020 in Review & 2021 Resolutions: A Yearly Wrap-Up

Firstly, I’d like to wish you all a happy 2021! 🥳

Also… GUYS, I READ 110 BOOKS THIS YEAR!!!???? I know for some book bloggers that’s like the norm. But for me it’s HUUUGE! I literally started this year by saying, if possible I’d like to aim for a book a month this year, and see where that goes… Like, for real, my original Goodreads Challenge was 12 books! TWELVE. BOOKS.

It had been honestly a long time – longer than I’d like to admit! – since I had really read more than a book or two in a year. But at the end of last year I experienced something that made me sit up and really question if I was prioritizing the things in my life that really mattered to me.
